Indiana Robotic Navigation is an organization created to win the DARPA Grand Challenge. Long range plans call for the development of autonomous vehicle systems to support consumer, military, commercial, and industrial applications. Autonomous vehicles support computerized control of a vehicle including navigation, obstacle avoidance, and route optimization.
In March, 2004, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) conducted a history-making event. The inaugural DARPA Grand Challenge featured teams of autonomous robotic ground vehicles navigating a course of 142 miles between Barstow CA and Primm NV. The team that most quickly completes the route within the allotted time of 10 hours or less was to receive a cash prize of $1 million.
That event is now history, and of the 106 teams that applied, 25 were selected and only 15 made it onto the challenge course. The most successful team completed just over 7 miles of the course. Clearly, this is not an easy challenge.
DARPA will be conducting this Grand Challenge again October 8, 2005. The cash award has been raised to $2 million.
Indiana Robotic Navigation believes that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God. We will strive to do everything we do to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the only way to succeed is with the Lord's help. We want a challenge that is so big that if God isn't in it, it will surely fail. The Grand Challenge is just such a project.
We believe that we have exceptional people, a wealth of experience, very diverse knowledge, and a unique approach that will create a winning machine.
Thank you for visiting!
